Just like player awards, NFL Coach of the Year is a race where the odds will fluctuate throughout the season.
Minnesota’s Kevin O’Connell had been the favorite to win the award for five consecutive weeks, but after Week 7, he had company atop the oddsboard.
That company was Washington’s Dan Quinn.
And now, after a Hail Mary win for his Commanders in Week 8, Quinn has assumed pole position.
Let’s check out the latest odds at DraftKings Sportsbook as of Oct 29.
2024-25 NFL Coach of the Year odds:
Dan Quinn, Commanders: +220 (bet $10 to win $32 total)
Kevin O’Connell, Vikings: +500 (bet $10 to win $60 total)
Sean Payton, Broncos: +550 (bet $10 to win $65 total)
Jim Harbaugh, Chargers: +600 (bet $10 to win $70 total)
Andy Reid, Chiefs: +650 (bet $10 to win $75 total)
Dan Campbell, Lions: +750 (bet $10 to win $85 total)
Mike Tomlin, Steelers: +800 (bet $10 to win $110 total)
O’Connell’s Vikings suffered their first loss of the season in Week 7, and with that, his odds moved from +140 to +275.
Minnesota then lost again in Week 8, and now, for the first time in a long time, he’s second on the board at +500.
Conversely, Quinn’s Commanders blasted the Panthers 40-7 in Week 7, winning their fifth game in six tries, and then miraculously overcame the Bears in Week 8, making it six out of seven.
Making the biggest leap this week is the Chiefs’ Andy Reid, after his team went on the road and beat the Raiders 27-20.
He moved from +900 to +650, as Kansas City moved to 7-0.
