You gotta love the Masters, baby, and America most certainly did in 2025.
It took 11 attempts to do it, but Rory McIlroy finally was victorious in the Masters to not just win the green jacket, but to accomplish the career Grand Slam.
The win from Rory was the largest at the Masters since Tiger Woods won the tournament back in 2019. With that being said, if you look at the television ratings, you could say it was larger than Woods’ win. (RELATED: Trump Gives His Reaction To Rory McIlroy’s Classic Victory In Masters)
When it came to the first two rounds of the Masters, the ratings were down because of there being no Tiger Woods, but the last round didn’t suffer from that whatsoever. Per CBS, the fourth round brought in an average of 12.7 million viewers, peaking at 19.5 million when the playoff between McIlroy and Justin Rose sparked up.
As we all know, McIlroy put down a birdie putt on the 18th hole to defeat Rose in the playoff.

I’m not the biggest fan of Rory McIlroy, and I’m just gonna keep it a bean, I quite frankly can’t stand the guy. But at the same time, I can acknowledge how special his victory was. I can’t even hate on the guy.

With that being said, 2026 is Bryson DeChambeau‘s year.
