Biden-Harris Admin Finds A Way To Alienate Both Sides With New Foreign Boondoggle

So we’re sending troops to Israel — kind of.

With tension heating up between Israel and Iran, the Biden administration announced Sunday that it will send Israel a THAAD anti-missile battery along with an “associated crew of U.S. military” personnel to operate it. It’s not quite “boots on the ground” in the way we typically imagine foreign intervention. And yet, it’s no less misguided — especially from the Harris campaign’s own self-interest.

The left-wing base is clearly very touchy when it comes to Israel; eat a bagel outside in a college town and watch a pro-Hamas rally pop up in minutes. Yet Democrats still need these lunatics to show up. Tim Walz’s “masculinity” isn’t going to convince men to defect from Donald Trump anytime soon, so their entire push right now comes down to turning out the left-wing base.

At the same time, anyone deranged enough to reject “Killer Kamala” and “Genocide Joe” over their love of Palestinian terrorism is probably already locked in already. If this troop deployment gained some real traction in the media, it could potentially depress turnout on the margins. But don’t hold your breath: Even with Secretary Lloyd Austin noting that the action “underscores the United States’ ironclad commitment to the defense of Israel,” the corporate media knows how the game works here. This will all get lost in the news cycle.

Yet the move has broader implications than merely enraging masked protesters in Berkeley and Dearborn. We can already see the wheels turning toward yet another foreign boondoggle.

We give Israel a high tech anti-missile system, and almost immediately Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu commits to hitting the Iranian military, The Washington Post reported Monday night. ‏”We listen to the opinions of the United States, but we will make our final decisions based on our national interests,” Netanyahu’s office said in a statement.

What’s next? Iran isn’t likely to take this lying down; both countries see this as an existential battle and can only ramp up tensions so far before they reach a point of no return.

So the Middle East is on its way to a hot war, and the American taxpayers already have our hands in the cookie jar. Will our government have the leverage to de-escalate and/or detach ourselves from the conflict? Will it even want or try to? Only time will tell.

It’s sad that avoiding unnecessary foreign interventions has become a “right-wing issue,” at least as far as media propaganda labels go. But in reality, this is something Americans left, right and center have an interest in opposing. And yet, the Democrats are trying their hardest to alienate them all.
