Chuck Lorre Gives ‘Transformational Gift’ To Children’s Hospital Los Angeles

Famous producer Chuck Lorre made one of the largest donations in the history of the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

The Chuck Lorre Foundation announced they are establishing the Chuck Lorre Pediatric Health Education Institute at a fundraising gala held Oct. 5, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The CHLA confirmed the gift and shared details about the exciting new development. This is being billed as a “first of its kind” facility in the United States and will be comprised of six pillars of professional training for physicians, nurses, clinical service and allied health professionals, researchers, simulation training programs and community workforce development programs,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The one-of-a-kind facility will offer resources for training, career development, mentorship and professional growth.

The monetary value of the donation was not publicly declared, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

CHLA President and CEO Paul S. Viviano called it a “transformational gift” and said it’s among the three largest the hospital has received.

“It will have a profound impact on the future of health care locally and nationally,” he said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Viviano went on to express his gratitude by saying, “we are grateful to The Chuck Lorre Family Foundation for its vision, commitment and extreme generosity in making this milestone gift.”

“Investing in people creates profound change.
