Oilers’ Connor McDavid Has An Incredibly Wild Fear Of … Ketchup? Oilers’ Connor McDavid Has An Incredibly Wild Fear Of … Ketchup?

Definitely wasn’t expecting to blog about this today…

If you’re a fan of the NHL like I am, then you’re very well aware of the odd behavior going on in the league when it comes to ketchup. I mean, hell, you have players out here putting the ploppy goodness on pasta, which should NEVER happen, but it does.

Well, now we have Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid joining the ketchup weirdness, though his is quite different and very unique. And that’s the fact that he’s scared, yes, terrified of the better version of tomato juice. He actually spoke about this Tuesday during the coverage of the Oilers-Philadelphia Flyers game, which Edmonton won 4-3, and man, what a gem this clip is. “The ketchup thing is a funny thing,” stated McDavid. “My brother and I both just grew up that way. It’s really, it’s more of a phobia. I wish I could tell you more about it, I don’t know why it is that way.”

McDavid’s ketchup phobia was revealed by his wife during Amazon Prime’s “Faceoff: Inside The NHL.”

WATCH:

You truly do learn something new everyday, I have never in my life heard of a “ketchup phobia,” but I guess there’s a phobia for everything here in 2024. People are weird as hell today.

Nothing against Connor McDavid, I actually like the guy despite him being a Stanley Cup opp against my Florida Panthers last season, but I’m sure he’d agree that this is some weird ass ish.
