The U.S. Secret Service released a statement detailing the extra security measures at the game, CBS News reported.
“Today, former President Trump is receiving the highest protection the Secret Service can provide. The agency adjusts and enhances our protective posture to mitigate evolving threats. We’re working closely with our local law enforcement partners in Pittsburgh to minimize disruptions while ensuring the highest level of safety and security for the former president.”
Prior to the game, Trump posted an AI-generated image of himself as a player for the Steelers. The Republican candidate later complained about the NFL’s changes to kickoffs.
“I hated seeing what the NFL did with the kickoff return. Saw it tonight at the Steelers/Jets game. When you have something that works, don’t ‘tinker’ with it, you may end up with nothing!” Trump wrote after attending the game.
“Thank you to the Steelers fans for the great reception tonight. November 5th will be the most important day in the history of our Country! MAGA2024!!!” the GOP nominee wrote.
