Bill Maher Reveals His Dating Habits ‘Not Age-Appropriate’

Bill Maher got real about his unconventional views on love and marriage and made it clear he doesn’t care if his opinion is unpopular.

The 68-year-old comedian and commentator opened up about his love life on “The Skinny Confidential’s Him and Her” podcast Oct. 21, after rumors began circulating that he and 30-year-old Noor Alfallah were romantically linked. Alfallah recently gave birth to Al Pacino’s child and has since denied the rumors. Maher made it clear that he’s single but not looking and he is definitely not interested in women his own age.

“I’m not looking. I’m good,” he told hosts Michael and Lauryn Evarts Bosstick.

“Nothing that I could have predicted when I was your age came to pass. Like I would never have imagined that at this age, anyone – and again, like, I’ll say this just generally- my dating is not age-appropriate,” Maher said.

Maher stopped short of mentioning Alfallah by name.

When asked if his romantic interests were “perceived in an unorthodox context, younger than what you should be dating,” Maher bluntly said, “not just perceived, they literally are.”

He went on to say, “the people who are pissed off at that, fuck you.”

“You do you, I do me. You do what works for you,” he said.

Maher went on to share his views on marriage and explained why that wasn’t a path that he had chosen for himself.

“I don’t believe in it. It’s not Hinduism, there’s no belief in it,” he said.

He drove his feelings home by continuing, “it would ruin everything. I mean, I’m not going to.”

“I love to talk about this subject, but it’s tough because I also don’t really ever want to divulge the details of my own personal life,” Maher said, before insisting that in spite of his unconventional perspective on love, it “sure works” for him.

Maher said it took time for him to break free of societal norms.

“It certainly was in my head for way too long, that you [have to] find the one, like it’s an Easter egg hunt and you find the egg, and then everything’s perfect,” he said. “That’s certainly not the way I’ve ever seen life work, and didn’t work for me.”(RELATED: Bill Maher Rips Democrats Over Walz, Obama Courting Black Voters)

He acknowledged the sanctity of marriage as being important to some people, but said it just wasn’t a personal match for him.

“It’s not that I don’t believe in marriage or acknowledge that some people do have good marriages. I know people who would be lost without this,” he said.
