If you went back to 2004 and told people that 20 years from now, Dick Cheney and Eminem would be held up as beacons of virtue and joy, they’d call you crazy. And yet, here we are.
Twenty years ago, this ghoulish duo were some of the biggest villains in American life. Liberals despised Cheney for digging us into the Middle East. Meanwhile, the vestiges of Reagan’s moral majority reviled Eminem, then at the height of his fame, for building a career on songs about raping and murdering women. Yet all seems forgiven as they now go to the stump for Kamala Harris.
.@Eminem: I don’t think anyone wants an America where people are worried about retribution of what people will do if you make your opinion known. I think Vice President Harris supports a future for this country where these freedoms and many others will be protected and upheld pic.twitter.com/tVVHO00ANn

Aging lesbian Marshall “Eminem” Mathers took to the stage Tuesday night in his hometown of Detroit to encourage Michiganders to vote. “I think Vice President Harris supports a future for this country where these freedoms will be upheld,” he proclaimed, before introducing a weary former President Barack Obama onto the stage. Obama then rapped some lyrics from Eminem’s hit “Lose Yourself.” Really, who still falls for this schlock? (RELATED: Click here to watch ‘Cleaning Up Kamala’)
So it was a painful scene, but still not as painful as Cheney’s proud endorsement of Harris back in September — an endorsement which, if Harris was smart, she would have run away from as fast as possible. It’s actually quite hilarious: a country club warmonger and a trailer park misogynist now find themselves on the same team, right alongside lefty-feminist darling Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, of course.
What a crew! If SNL was still funny, they’d put those three on a Kenan Thompson “Jeopardy” panel.
This all goes to show there’s no longer really a left-right divide in American life. It’s a matter of insiders and outsiders, the status quo vs. real reform, self-declared elites against everyone else. Choose the right side, and no one cares what you’ve done in the past. All that matters is that you fight to protect the Establishment from any destructive forces. Do that, and you instantly become the good guy.
That’s how we wind up with all these seemingly disparate figures lining up like the anti-American Avengers. It pays so much more to go with the Establishment than against it.
