Kamala Harris’s campaign kicked out a prominent Muslim political leader from an event Monday in Michigan in what might be one of their dumbest moves yet this election season.
Dr. Ahmed Ghanim, a Democrat who previously ran for Congress in Michigan’s 11th district, had received an invitation to the event in Royal Oak where Harris was speaking with neoconservative warmonger Liz Cheney. But a campaign organizer apparently kicked him out of the event for no apparent reason, and Ghanim says he has yet to receive any answers. “She took me to the door, and she closed it, and I found two police officers waiting there, and she said, ‘You have to leave right now,’” Ghanim told Metro Times. “I asked why she was kicking me out. She wouldn’t answer. I was very calmly asking why I was being kicked out.”
“I was just wearing a suit and a white shirt. I said, ‘OK,’ and I left. The police officer said, ‘You either leave now or I’ll put you in the back of my car,’” he told the outlet.

“Our campaign regrets this action and its impact on Dr. Ghanim and the community, and he is welcome at future events. We value our relationship with the Muslim American community and are committed to ensuring all community and political spaces are welcoming and respectful to every American,” the Harris campaign said in a statement to 7 News Detroit.
Despite the apology, this is an awful look for a campaign that is now trailing Trump among Arab Americans, according to a new poll. You kick out a prominent Muslim Democrat from an event that is spotlighting your endorsement from the one politician all Muslim Americans probably hate, i.e., Liz Cheney? How do you think that is going to fly with all the Muslim activists working to sabotage your chances of winning Michigan? The sheer stupidity and utter lack of political instinct are almost breathtaking. Trump can smell the blood in the water, and the Harris campaign is doing themselves no favors.
