The Atlantic ran a hit piece Tuesday night on former President Donald Trump and liberals immediately began to weaponize the allegations.
The story, written by editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg, claims Trump disparaged the family of a Mexican American veteran killed at Fort Hood, Vanessa Guillén (and everyone involved in the incident disputes the reporting as false). The story also claims Trump once said, “I need the kind of generals that Hitler had,” which was “confirmed” later in the report by former White House chief-of-staff Gen. John Kelly. However, there are two important things to remember about the story’s author and its home, The Atlantic.
Jeffrey Goldberg Was A WMD Propagandist
Goldberg is most famous for spreading the lies about WMDs that lead to America’s invasion of Iraq. If there’s anyone who would (un)wittingly do the dirty work of the National Security/Military Blob, it’d probably be Mr. Editor-in-Chief of The Super Serious Magazine That Publishes Trump Fear Porn Every Other Day, Jeffrey Goldberg.
Back in his hey day working for the other super serious magazine, The New Yorker, Goldberg wrote, “there is no disagreement that Iraq, if unchecked, will have [nuclear weapons] soon.” He also claimed the country had “stocks of biological and chemical weapons.”
In October 2002, he wrote, “The administration is planning today to launch what many people would undoubtedly call a short-sighted and inexcusable act of aggression. In five years, however, I believe that the coming invasion of Iraq will be remembered as an act of profound morality.”
In the same month, his work was entered into the Congressional Record as lawmakers debated the authorization to use military force.
The Atlantic Is Owned By A Kamala Harris Donor
Steve Jobs’s widow and owner of The Atlantic, Laurene Powell Jobs, is extremely close with Vice President Kamala Harris.
“Few figures have cultivated a more consequential friendship with Ms. Harris, now the Democratic nominee for president, than Ms. Powell Jobs,” The New York Times reported in late September.
The Times also reported that Powell Jobs “quietly contributed millions of dollars to an organization backing Ms. Harris” and that she “played a hidden but key role in helping usher Mr. Biden out of the race.” (Stream Daily Caller’s latest documentary ‘Cleaning Up Kamala’ HERE)
The Atlantic is owned by Powell Jobs’s Emerson Collective.
