Well … at least Anthony gets the rest that he wants.
The Indianapolis Colts have made the decision to bench quarterback Anthony Richardson and are giving the starting job to Super Bowl XLVII MVP Joe Flacco, according to a report Tuesday from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler and Adam Schefter.
Indianapolis coaches held a meeting Tuesday morning and came to the conclusion that a quarterback change was needed, per ESPN’s insiders. (RELATED: Ravens Boost Up Their Wide Receiving Corps After Trading For Panthers’ Diontae Johnson)
The switch up is at the most incredible timing as well, coming just two days following Richardson requesting to temporarily exit Sunday’s contest taking on the Houston Texans because he “was tired.”
With that being said, the Colts feel internally that Richardson hasn’t seen his last days as their franchise quarterback. Per ESPN, an organization source labels Richardson being benched as a “growth opportunity” for him and said that the Colts “are not quitting on Anthony.”

Shoutout to Joe Flacco, I’m happy to see him get another shot and he deserves his acknowledgement, but I still can’t get over that “tired” comment from Anthony Richardson (LMAO).

The Colts can say what they want, we all know this was the reason why they made the move at quarterback — straight up hilarious.
