Reba McEntire Admits To Accidentally Getting High With Her Mom

Country music legend Reba McEntire admitted she got unexpectedly high while watching over her elderly mother.

McEntire stopped by “The Tonight Show” Oct. 29 and told the hilarious story for the very first time publicly to Jimmy Fallon. She said she was taking a break from her tour to care for her elderly mother, when things took a very unexpected turn.

“I laid down and I swear there was weeds and flowers growing out of my head,” she told Fallon.

McEntire explained how the the circumstances that led to her unexpected high, several years prior.

She said her sister Alice told her, “‘Now, if Mama starts hurting tonight when y’all go to sleep, give her one of these gummies.’ I said, ‘OK, alright.’ And I said, ‘The whole thing?’ She said ‘Yes, the whole thing,’” McEntire recalled.

“Well, I wasn’t really comfortable with that, so when we started going to bed, I said, ‘Mama, let’s get ahead of this pain. I’m going to give you half of this,’” McEntire said, and she pulled out the marijuana gummies and proceeded to give one half to her elderly mom. She told Fallon she watched her mother fall asleep very quickly and she was inspired to do the same, so she took the other half dose herself.

“I thought, ‘Well, shoot. Mama’s taking it. I need to see what she’s experiencing,’” McEntire told Fallon.

The famous country singer said she was awoken by her mother in the middle of the night, as she made her way to the restroom.

“I said, ‘Mama, hang on, I’ll be right there,’ and she said, ‘I’m good.’ So, I threw back the covers and that’s about as far as I got,” McEntire said.

She began to imitate and gesture to demonstrate how woozy she felt as she willed her body to go through the motions of walking across the room.

McEntire hilariously recreated the moment in slow motion, as she struggled to move from one side of the bed to the other. She said that when she finally made it to her mother, which was not a great distance at all, she was asked to get her some ice water. The country star laughed at how impossible that seemed and recalled feeling unable to make it all the way down the hallway and to the kitchen.

“So the next day, I asked everybody, ‘How many milligrams were in those things?’ 50! I took 25 milligrams with my mother,” she told Fallon.

She jokingly quipped, “Still took care of mama!”
