Sydney Sweeney is making it rain as one of the highest paid actresses of her generation — and she’s only 27 years old.
Sweeney is now among the most in-demand actresses in the industry and has snagged a huge pay raise as a result. The actress is capitalizing on her current success by taking on a slew of upcoming roles and projects, and her pay checks are starting to reflect her career’s meteoric rise.
Sweeney earned $2 million for her role in “Anyone But You,” and is now raking in a whopping $7.5 million to star in “The Housemaid” less than a year later, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The star’s career is clearly on an upward trajectory and showing no signs of slowing down.
Sweeney’s upcoming projects include roles in a boxing biopic and a Hollywood period drama examining an affair between Kim Novak and Sammy Davis Jr.
The actress has seemingly cemented herself in the industry after reportedly earning millions in backend profits from “Anyone But You.” She also took home an impressive $250,000 executive producing fee for the film and was a catalyst for its creation, the outlet reported.
A source close to the situation said Sweeney agreed to first shoot a supporting role in “Madame Web,” part of Sony’s Spider-Man-centric universe of films, as a way to help “Anyone But You” get the greenlight. Prior to filming “Anyone But You,” she was paid just $65,000 for her role in “Reality,” an indie drama.
“She wanted them to know she was a team player,” the Sony Pictures source said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The actress earned $750,000 for her role in “Madame Web,” which floundered at the box office.
Sweeney’s rise has been sudden, having earned only $250,000 for producing and starring in “Immaculate,” a horror movie released in March. She also earned a mere $65,000 for her role in an indie movie prior to shooting “Anyone But You.” (RELATED: Sydney Sweeney Claims She Was The Main Reason Behind Movie’s Success)
The actress is showing no signs of slowing down, and if this pattern continues, she’s sure to shatter more earnings records in no time.
