Lawrence should be excited … very excited.
Following a recruiting process that was extraordinarily competitive, five-star guard Darryn Peterson (No. 3 overall in the nation) has announced his commitment to the Kansas Jayhawks, doing so over Ohio State, USC and Kansas State. Peterson is also listed as the No. 1 ranked combo guard in the Class of 2025.
Making a live appearance on CBS Sports HQ, Peterson spoke to Eric Bossi of 247Sports where he revealed that he’ll be dicing it up in Lawrence when his game transitions to college. (RELATED: Indiana Fever Hire Stephanie White As Head Coach: REPORT)
The Jayhawks were very aggressive in their pursuit of Peterson, making him a top priority early in the process as he was getting attention directly from the top in head coach Bill Self, who caught whiff of his potential to be a major part of Kansas’ future. Peterson is known for having an elite level when it comes to being dynamic, and now with the Jayhawks locking up his commitment, it’s time to put the country on alert when it comes to a potential national championship in the next two years.
Yes, he’s that good.
