Have we ever seen hail in an NFL game before? I don’t think we have.
The Arizona Cardinals played host Sunday to the Chicago Bears at Glendale’s State Farm Stadium and, at one point during the game, it started to rain. Things then ratcheted up when hail came into the picture. The weather development caused the Cardinals to close their retractable roof, which remained open because there weren’t any expectations of bad weather happening.
Problem solved, right? (RELATED: Saquon Barkley Pulls Off ‘How The Heck Did He Do That?’ Play That’s Guaranteed To Have Never Been Done Before In NFL)
Wrong, because retractable roofs move slowly, and the Cards’ roof took a total of 10 minutes to completely shut. As a result, Arizona and Chicago had to play football during a hail storm, which made for quite the show.
The Cardinals ultimately beat the Bears in a 29-9 blowout, with running back James Conner leading the way for Arizona with 107 yards.
