Blue Jays Throw Their Hat Into The Ring For Juan Soto: REPORT

Blue Jays Throw Their Hat Into The Ring For Juan Soto: REPORT Blue Jays Throw Their Hat Into The Ring For Juan Soto: REPORT

Could Juan Soto be headed to T-Dot?

According to a report from the New York Post’s Jon Heyman, the sweepstakes for superstar free agent Juan Soto has been knocked down to eight final teams, with both top suspects in the New York Yankees and New York Mets being included on that list. (Shocker there, I know)

With that being said, there’s one franchise that could set off shockwaves across Major League Baseball in terms of potentially landing Soto. (RELATED: Miami Marlins Name Clayton McCullough As Next Manager)

The other six ball clubs outside of the Yankees and Mets are also big-market franchises, but there appears to be another team who is now throwing their hat into the ring. And they also happen to have big pockets. Per Heyman, that team is surprisingly the Toronto Blue Jays, and not just that, but they’re the No. 1 threat to snatch Soto out of New York City.

“The Jays are viewed by industry sources as a viable obstacle to the favored Yankees and Mets, thanks to a well-heeled ownership and strong incentive to improve coming off the abject disappointment of 2024,” wrote Heyman.

Also according to his report, each the Blue Jays, Yankees, Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox, San Francisco Giants and two “mystery” franchises are meeting with Soto in southern California beginning this week.

I don’t see the man going to Toronto, but one thing is for sure: This is gonna be fun as hell.
