“Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria endorsed Kamala Harris and now that Donald Trump has been elected President, she’s high-tailing it out of America.
The famous actress has long traveled between the United States, Spain and Mexico for work, and has now decided to officially relocate outside of the country. Longoria loudly endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race, and isn’t willing to be part of Trump’s America.
“I’m privileged,” she told Marie Claire in an interview published Nov. 13. “I get to escape and go somewhere. Most Americans aren’t so lucky. They’re going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them.”
Longoria couldn’t be more clear about her path out of the country. She noted that the current state of affairs no longer suits her, and has continued to fall short of her expectations for some time.
“I had my whole adult life here,” she told the publication, making reference to her life in America.
“But even before [the pandemic], it was changing. The vibe was different. And then Covid happened, and it pushed it over the edge,” she told Marie Claire.
Longoria aired her grievances as she continued, “Whether it’s the homelessness or the taxes, not that I want to shit on California—it just feels like this chapter in my life is done now.”
The famous actress expressed concern about what life will be like when Trump takes office.
“The shocking part is not that he won,” the star told Marie Claire two days after he was elected. “It’s that a convicted criminal who spews so much hate could hold the highest office.”
She said the country may become “a scary place.”
“If he keeps his promises, it’s going to be a scary place,” she continued. (RELATED: Trump Fans Blast Rihanna’s Endorsement Post: ‘Maybe She Should Be Arrested’)
Longoria insisted that despite her primary address no longer being in the United States, she will still consider herself a patriot.
