Tyrese Maxey Calls Out Sixers Teammate Joel Embiid Amid Horrendous 2-11 Start To Season: REPORT Tyrese Maxey Calls Out Sixers Teammate Joel Embiid Amid Horrendous 2-11 Start To Season: REPORT

Tyrese Maxey is straight standin’ on business!

The Philadelphia 76ers have gotten off to an absolutely horrendous start here in the new campaign, tallying a 2-11 record that sees them dead last in the Eastern Conference standings. With the circumstances and the fact that their ‘Big 3’ of Joel Embiid, Paul George and Tyrese Maxey haven’t played a single contest together, the Sixers decided to hold a team meeting.

It came after they suffered yet another loss Monday night, this time in a 106-89 defeat against the Miami Heat. It was Philadelphia‘s fourth consecutive loss. (RELATED: Clippers’ James Harden Passes Ray Allen, Advances To Final Step To Become No. 1 All-Time In NBA Three-Point Shooting)

Afterwards, veteran point guard Kyle Lowry initiated the meeting, which led to a heart-to-heart between players and coaches, sources said to ESPN.

But the most notable moment came between Embiid and Maxey, with the latter calling out the former MVP for being late “for everything” and telling him that he needs to start being on time for when team activities are held. He went on to say that his actions, or lack thereof, affect the team and the coaching staff, according to ESPN.

Anybody who has been paying attention to the Philadelphia 76ers this season realizes there’s a problem, and we all know that problem is Joel Embiid. I mean, damn, the guy went from winning the NBA’s Most Valuable Player award to just seeming outright lazy.

It’s sad when the ego gets in the way.
