After being released by the New York Giants, quarterback Daniel Jones will be signing with the Minnesota Vikings. Jones was recently cut by the Giants after he requested to be released, which came after he lost the starting job earlier in November. Coming out of Duke University, Jones was picked in the 2019 NFL Draft with the No. 6 overall selection by the Giants, getting the call to eventually replace Eli Manning, who was setting up to retire. When he took over the gig, Jones was New York’s starting quarterback for the last six campaigns, but the struggle was real. And that was amplified even more in 2023 after he inked a four-year deal worth $160 million.
Over the last six seasons as the G-Men’s starter, Jones has put up a dismal 22-44-1 record and had just one winning year with the franchise.

I said in a recent piece that I could see Daniel Jones signing with the Vikings just to sit back and wait for Sam Darnold to flub things up, and here we are. I guarantee you that’s exactly what Daniel Jones is doing. Minnesota will be his easiest road to becoming a starter again.
