First off, rest in peace to the dog and best wishes to Kirk, this is NOTHING against them.
It hasn’t been a month yet since ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit’s dog died, and the sadness is still very thick across America. I mean, damn, nobody wants to hear stories about dead dogs. Hell, the news is so saddening that it’s even reached Joe Biden at the White House, who wrote a letter to express his condolences on the matter.
Last month, Herbstreit revealed that his golden retriever, Ben, passed away after a battle with cancer. He made the tough choice to put down the furry friend.
“This is really hard to write but so many of you have loved and cared about Ben that I wanted to let you know. We found out today the cancer had spread throughout Ben’s organs and there was nothing left we could do – we had to let him go,” wrote Herbstreit. Since then, it’s been an overwhelming amount of support thrown towards Herb, and he’s even got some support from Biden.
“Politics aside — REALLY honored to receive this personal note from @POTUS sharing his appreciation and compassion for the loss of our beloved Ben,” posted Herbstreit on Twitter.
“I can only hope that Ben knows how many people he touched.”

All of this is sweet and everything, but… Shouldn’t Joe be focused on bigger things? Ya know, like fixing his crumbling economy? Ya know, PRESIDENTIAL stuff?
Just the perfect representation of Biden‘s presidency…
