Head coach Jim Harbaugh is excited to start plotting the offseason strategy for the Los Angeles Chargers along with general manager Joe Hortiz.
That strategy, however, will have to be paused slightly when Harbaugh undergoes two different health procedures. (RELATED: Golf World Gets Major Scare After John Daly Forced To Have Emergency Surgery)
While giving his end-of-season comments Wednesday, Harbaugh stated that “soon” he will receive treatment for his irregular heart rhythm by having an ablation, while also undergoing surgery for a hip replacement.
Back in October during the Chargers’ victory against the Denver Broncos, Harbaugh suffered an irregular heartbeat in the first quarter, which saw him go into the medical tent prior to going back to the locker room. While there, he had his pulse taken, as well as an EKG. He also received both magnesium and an IV.

Harbaugh came back to the sideline following the EKG showing that his heart was back at a normal pace.
After the Broncos game, the 61-year-old head coach said that he’s been dealing with atrial flutter for several years, which is a condition that causes the heart to beat faster than usual. Harbaugh went to see a cardiologist, who put him on a heart monitor for a couple of weeks. He also had to take a blood thinner.
