A second Trump presidency means that Democrats and the liberal media are going to reach hysterical levels of disinformation, even dwarfing their efforts during President Donald Trump‘s first four years in office.
The first major instance of Democrats and the liberal media getting their facts wrong just played out in Chicago. We were told that the brave and accepting heroes of Chicago Public Schools turned away Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents who rolled up to an elementary school in Chicago, hunting for illegal immigrant children to deport. Gov. JB Pritzker (D-IL) went on the attack, declaring, “After a week of Republicans sowing fear and chaos, the first reports of raids in Chicago are at an elementary school. Targeting children and separating families is cruel and un-American.”
The problem? It didn’t happen.
The school was not visited by ICE agents but by Secret Service agents who were investigating a threat against a government official related to the possible banning of TikTok. According to the Secret Service, “Agents identified themselves to the school principal and provided business cards with their contact information.”
Chicago Public Schools CEO Pedro Martinez originally said the agents’ credentials identified them as being from ICE, then later said they only identified them as being from the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees both ICE and the Secret Service. An agent disputed that to NBC Chicago, saying, “No business card would just say DHS. It’s either both USSS and DHS, or just USSS.”
Naturally, this was all Trump’s fault. Martinez said this “misunderstanding … reflects the fear and anxiety that is present in our city right now.”

This was not CPS officials acting incompetently and trying to scare people in order to sell themselves as brave resistance heroes standing against the Trump administration, you see. This was all the fault of the “fear and anxiety” Trump has brought to the country, which excuses Democrats and their media allies for sharing false information with the country.
This comes after Democrats and the liberal media have spent the last several years whining about right-wing “disinformation.” We are only a few weeks removed from the liberal meltdown over Facebook and Instagram disempowering liberal “fact-checkers” because, supposedly, that would allow disinformation to run rampant. However, there is no accountability and no self-reflection after incidents such as what happened in Chicago, and there is no doubt that Democrats and the liberal media will reach levels of disinformation never seen before in the coming four years.
