Yeah, I might be biased, but this is still one hell of a story.

America, meet 10-year-old Trey Howard, a huge fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. Along with his family, Trey found himself in the middle of recent tragedy when a plane crashed near a Dunkin’ Donuts in Northeast Philly that killed seven and injured 24.

The boy and his family weren’t far from where the aircraft landed and, as a result, he ended up suffering injuries after pieces of metal flew away from the crash.

Speaking about the situation, Trey’s father, Andrew Howard Jr., says that his son was hurt while protecting his little sister by hopping on top of her to block any debris that was in her path. The plane crashed near the family’s vehicle. Protecting his sibling as pieces of metal flew in their direction, Trey was hit in the head, forcing him to go to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to get emergency surgery, according to ABC7 Eyewitness News.

“Felt like it was a movie, like a horror movie,” Trey’s dad said. “Sounded like a missile was firing bullets, metal at my car, everyone else’s car. You see a car on fire, a man walking on fire. It was just crazy. I turn around and [Trey] has metal outside of his head.” (RELATED: Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes Gloriously Credits Our Lord And Savior Jesus Christ For Continued Super Bowl Success)

Luckily, Trey had a successful surgery and, when he recovered, his first question had to do with his Birds in the Super Bowl.

“They did an A+ job on my son. Praise God, they did a great job,” said the dad. “He asked me, ‘Daddy, what’s today?’ I was like, ‘Monday.’ ‘OK, wait. We didn’t play yesterday did we?’ ‘No, you didn’t miss the Super Bowl.’”

Trey was also eager to find out if he saved his sister.

“Daddy, did I save my sister?” the father asked, relaying Trey’s question. “As a dad, it’s bittersweet. I’m glad he listened, but that’s my job, not his job, to protect his sister.”

And this is just another reason to root for the Philadelphia Eagles to win Super Bowl LIX … E-A-G-L-E-S! EAGLES!
