Soon-to-be former MSNBC host Joy Reid, otherwise known as Joy Anne Weave, broke down on a Zoom call Monday after her show, “The ReidOut,” was canceled by the struggling liberal network. In one of her final tear-soaked diatribes, before her show is officially dead and gone, she congratulated herself on her steadfast bravery and pretended as if her abysmal ratings did not exist. “I’ve been through every emotion from, you know, anger, rage, disappointment, hurt, you know, a feeling that, you know, guilt. You know, that I let my team lose their jobs,” she began. “But in the end, where I really land and where I’ve landed on today is just gratitude. Just pure gratitude … Not just because people would take the time to get on a call like this or to take care of me. But also that my show had value and that I’m sorry that it what I was doing and value and value.”
“I’m sorry I’m not,” she interjected as the tears began to flow. “I try not to cry on TV and I think this kind of like me on TV. I apologize.”
Reid went on to say that she and her team “went hard” for illegal aliens, stirred racial hatred, spread bogus race hoaxes, and defended books without any intellectual merit, such as Nikole Hannah-Jones’s “1619 Project,” the distorted history of U.S. founding. She also patted herself on the back for calling out Israel’s slaughter of innocent Palestinian children, making the astute point that Americans “have a right to object to little babies being bombed.” So, in other words, free speech, so long as it aligns with the far-left’s ideological platform.
“Where I come down on that is I’m not sorry,” she said of her pro-Palestine views. “I am not sorry that I stood up for those those things because those things are of God.”
Among other things, Reid will be remembered for her keen political insight, which helped MSNBC viewers make sense of an ever-changing landscape in Washington, D.C. During the 2022 midterm elections, she observed that the word “inflation” was “not part of the normal lexicon” for Americans. That is, of course, until the GOP “taught people the word” and weaponized it against then-President Joe Biden. She also dropped truth bomb after truth bomb in the post-2024 aftermath, arguing that Kamala Harris’s campaign was “flawless” and that the loss was even more shocking considering the vice president nabbed an endorsement from the real mover and shaker, Queen Latifah.

Sadly for Reid — and other black women across America unjustly screwed over by systemic racism — these sorts of brilliant observations only reportedly earned her a middling $3 million a year salary. In fact, there has been rampant speculation that Reid was forced out at MSNBC because she is a black woman and that her takes were just too piercing for guilty white liberals who wanted more polished and palatable versions of left-wing ideas. A messenger more refined, less edgy, more inviting, such as Reid’s colleague, Jen Psaki, who grew up in Fairfield County, Connecticut, and attended Greenwich High School, would have been a more suitable host for MSNBC’s dwindling audience in the 7 p.m. time slot — at least that’s what the bigots are saying.
Sadly for America, we are being robbed of a great broadcast talent, whose reputation for air-tight political analysis and a down-to-earth personality will go unparalleled in the years to come. RIP, Joy Anne Reid. 2020-2025.
