A-Rod yesterday! A Cavaliers fan today!
During a break in Sunday’s contest between the Memphis Grizzlies and Cleveland Cavaliers, a fan had a chance to win $10,000 by making a half-court shot. In total, six contestants had the opportunity to win the $10K grand prize, and their moment came in the fourth quarter.
The last contestant, sporting a LeBron James jersey, answered the call after the previous five let us down — hitting an absolutely remarkable shot to put a bunch of money in his bank account. And though I’m not the biggest fan of the self-proclaimed king, it was pretty cool to see the fan do his signature chalk toss before the shot, something he was known for doing mainly in Cleveland. Now if that’s not honoring your hero, I don’t know what is.
When the fan hit the shot to win the $10,000, the crowd at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse absolutely exploded. And to make this situation crazier, this is the second time in the month of February that a Cavaliers fan has hit a half-court shot to win a bag, wild!

Oh! And to make it even craaazier, this comes just a day after MLB legend Alex Rodriguez hit a half-court shot to win $10,000 for a Bucknell student!
What a day for Bison Nation! Bucknell takes down Army, and A-Rod delivers an unforgettable moment—hitting a half-court shot to win a Bucknell student $10,000! Huge thanks to Alex Rodriguez, Marc Lore ’93, and Jordy Leiser ’06 for making it such a special day! #rayBucknell pic.twitter.com/WVmORSKReC
