REPORT: Police Charge Former ‘Family Feud’ Contestant Christopher Crisona With Child Sexual Abuse

Police reportedly arrested former “Family Feud” contestant Christopher Crisona on child sexual abuse charges.

Police charged Crisona and another man named Father John Taggart with several felonies connected to the alleged abuse of a minor at St. Thomas the Apostle School in Wilmington, Delaware, TMZ reported Thursday. Delaware Attorney General Kathy Jennings said the victim was in grades 7 and 8 at the time the alleged abuse took place. Charges against Crisona include unlawful sexual contact, unlawful sexual intercourse, unlawful sexual penetration, and continuous sexual abuse of a child, according to TMZ.

“The State’s indictment alleges a pattern of gravely serious abuse against a juvenile by two adults in a position of trust,” Jennings said.

“As prosecutors, and as parents, these kinds of cases keep us up at night — but they also give us purpose,” she told TMZ.

The Attorney General went on to say, “the victim in this case suffered profound trauma over a period of years and deserves justice. I’m grateful to the police, prosecutors, and social workers who have been critical to this investigation and who are committed to getting justice.”

Jennings said Crisona was working as an elementary school teacher in Florida at the time of his arrest. She told TMZ he was a teacher at St. Thomas the Apostle School for a year and a half in the mid-1990s, before he was removed from his post following a student complaint.

Crisona was a contestant on “Family Feud” in 2010, during Steve Harvey’s very first season as host of the popular game show.

The Crisona family won money on the show, and Christopher even participated in the “Fast Money” segment of the program and scored 64 points. The family fell just short of the $20,000 cash prize by scoring 197 of the necessary 200 in the round. (RELATED: ‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Viewers Roast Contestant’s Bizarre Answer)

Taggart is 80 years old, and Crisona is 57. It’s unclear if he will be released on bond. No further information was provided surrounding his arrest.
