The Trump edition of the Los Angeles Dodgers is in full effect!
President Donald Trump played host to the Los Angeles Dodgers to celebrate their 2024 World Series championship, with the festivities taking place Monday at the White House’s East Room.
In Oct. 2024, the Dodgers won the World Series after beating the New York Yankees, dominating them to win in only five games. Now, it’s time for that championship to get commemorated by Trump, and that he did.
“Over the course of this amazing season, the members of this team gave us some of the most incredible performances ever seen on the baseball diamond,” said Trump. (RELATED: ESPN’s Jay Williams Compares Lakers’ Luka Doncic And Trump’s Stock Market In Not-So-Witty Comments)
Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani was given his own spotlight by President Trump after having such an iconic campaign in 2024, becoming the first player in MLB history to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in a single season to found the “50-50 club.”
“Even more incredibly, Shohei clinched that achievement in what some have called the greatest game ever,” said Trump. “On September 19, 2024, he did the unthinkable by going six for six … against the Marlins with three homers, ten RBIs and a pair of stolen bases.”
Trump also issued compliments to Los Angeles superstars Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts, and was given a jersey by pitcher Clayton Kershaw. Afterwards, Trump and the Dodgers headed on over to the Oval Office.
