I’m willing to bet that this was a 100% business decision …
Recently, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was questioned about whether or not he was going to be in attendance for his team’s White House visit to celebrate their Super Bowl championship. At the time, Hurts didn’t give us an answer.
Well, we got that answer Monday. (RELATED: Commanders Returning To Washington DC After New $4 Billion Stadium Deal Gets Done)
Per NBC News’ Yamiche Alcindor, Hurts will not be visiting President Trump, and other Eagles players won’t be either. The reason being given by an unnamed White House official is just a matter of “scheduling conflicts.”
Birds owner Jeffrey Lurie stated that the visit is “totally optional,” which most of us already knew for the simple fact that there’s nothing mentioned in the Collective Bargaining Agreement about having to attend the White House.
It’s not currently known how many players will be present.
A White House official confirms to me that @Eagles quarterback @JalenHurts will not be visiting the White House when the Super Bowl champions come later this afternoon. The White House says Hurts and other players who can’t attend had “scheduling conflicts.”

The White House and Jalen Hurts can say whatever they want about “scheduling conflicts,” but Jalen strikes me as the kind of guy who doesn’t want anything political attached to his brand, and quite frankly, I don’t blame him.
Me personally, I would’ve visited the White House, but I’m not gonna hit Jalen too much for this — I doubt it’s anything anti-Trump.
