When will people learn that being antisemitic doesn’t pay?
Crowd-sourcing website GiveSendGo has seen a fundraising campaign on their platform raise more than $15,000 for a college student who attends Temple University, with the money being meant for a legal battle amid his beef with Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy.
Mo Khan, the name of the student, was put into the national spotlight following Portnoy accusing him of putting up a clip on his Instagram story that showed a waitress holding a “F*ck the Jews” sign. The scene took place at the Barstool Sansom Street bar in Philadelphia.
Originally, Portnoy made an offer to Khan to send him to Auschwitz to get educated about the Holocaust to help clean the situation up, however, Khan refused to do so. Now, Khan is raising funds on GiveSendGo for legal defense. (RELATED: Dave Portnoy Threatens To ‘Lawyer Up’ Against Temple Student Over Alleged Antisemitic Sign)
Jacob Wells, co-founder of GiveSendGo, spoke to Fox News Digital and says that his brand will be “looking into” the campaign to see if it’s valid.
“We want to make sure campaigns are as truthful as possible so we take reports of disputes seriously, we have our verification team that can take a look, and we’d be happy to take a look at this as well,” said Wells.
“It’s not our responsibility or job necessarily to fact-find around every single campaign unto the nth degree, so there’s a balance there, but we’ll commit to doing our verification process… We will definitely commit to looking into the campaign as we would any other campaign and go after making sure it is truthful as can be placed in a platform like ours.”
Mo Khan has set up a GiveSendGo to cover legal costs from Dave Portnoy, who has promised to ruin him for recording a “F*ck the Jews” sign at Portnoy’s bar.
