Eminem Stalker, Matthew David Hughes, Convicted Following Second Home Incident: REPORT Eminem Stalker, Matthew David Hughes, Convicted Following Second Home Incident: REPORT

Matthew David Hughes was found guilty of first-degree home invasion and aggravated stalking after unlawfully entering Eminem’s home, multiple outlets reported.

The legendary rapper testified at a court hearing held Wednesday and the jury subsequently found 32-year-old Hughes guilty, according to The Guardian. Police apprehended Hughes in August 2024 after he was observed at Eminem’s Clinton Township residence. He didn’t meet bail conditions at the time and has been imprisoned since the arrest. This was Hughes’ second time invading the star’s home.

Authorities previously charged him breaking into Eminem’s Detroit home in 2020 while the famous rapper was present. Eminem said Hughes stood behind him when he woke up. A police officer told the court that Eminem “was told by Mr. Hughes that he was there to kill him.”

The outlet reported that Hughes made his way into a former residence of Eminem’s in the Rochester Hills area of Detroit in 2019. He talked to the new homeowner and told them he was “looking for his brother Marshall,” and broke into a guest house located on the property after that. He was found guilty of breaking and entering and served 90 days in prison.

Following the 2020 incident, Hughes stayed out of prison by way of a plea deal. A judge sentenced him in September 2021 to five years’ probation but was found to have broken the terms of his probation with an unconnected assault later in the year, according to The Guardian. Hughes was then sentenced to prison again and subsequently paroled in May 2024. (RELATED: REPORT: DA Lays Felony Charges Against Celebrity Stalker That Referred To Jennifer Aniston As His ‘Bride’)
