Tex Fischer has quite the idea!
In the 2024 season, Ohio State fans were consistently irritated because of the Buckeyes often being scheduled to start at noon on Saturdays. That will evidently be the case again this upcoming 2025 season, as the team’s season opener taking on Texas is set for 12:00 p.m.
A state representative from Ohio is looking to switch that up. (RELATED: Nick Saban Isn’t Fan Of Trump’s Plan To Make College Sports Great Again)
Republican State Rep. Tex Fischer, representing the 59th district of Ohio, has proposed legislation to get rid of noon starts for the OSU football program. With that being said, the rivalry game against Michigan will be the exception.
The bill from Fischer reads that no contest is allowed to start prior to 3:30 p.m., specifically the Buckeyes when squaring off against an Associated Press top 10-team. If a scheduled time is before 3:30, either the Big Ten conference or the network broadcasting the game will be issued a fine of $10 million.

As a football fan — or at least a fan of Ohio State — you’re absolutely loving this piece of legislation. But outside of that, if I were c citizen of Ohio, I would be asking, “but what about getting rid of the state income tax, though?”
Nothing against Tex, but politicians really need to start delivering legislation that helps people. This ain’t helping nothing.
Still cool for OSU football fans though.
