NFL legend Keyshawn Johnson has slapped an NFL agent with a lawsuit worth around $1 million, making the claim that back pay is owed to him per an alleged agreement between the two from over a decade ago.

TMZ first reported on the lawsuit, which alleges that Johnson is owed money by agent Christopher Ellison for providing him assistance on identifying and recruiting players that Ellison eventually signed to his agency. Four players were brought up: Chicago Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson, Atlanta Falcons cornerback Mike Hughes, San Francisco 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir and Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs. Johnson alleges that the agreement between he and Ellison gave him the task “to identify players, make the initial contact with them, and recruit them to be represented by” the agent.

“In return for this player identification, recruitment and eventual entry into the highest level of the game of football, Defendant promised to pay Plaintiff a specific percentage of the player’s signed contract with the NFL,” reads the lawsuit, per OutKick. “Each year, Defendant promised to pay Plaintiff one-third of the (3%) three percent commission Defendant made on each of the players’ salary.”

The lawsuit states that Johnson hasn’t received payment for “no less than $962,335” connected to his work to bring in players for Ellison.

According to the TMZ report, Ellison has denied the allegations.
