Supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid revealed they have a secret 23-year-old half-sister named Aydan Nix.
The famous sisters issued a statement Thursday revealing Nix was born after their father, real estate developer Mohamed Hadid, had a “brief romance” with a woman named Terri Hatfield Dull, according to Daily Mail. They reported that relationship developed after their father divorced their mother, Yolanda Hadid, in 2001.
“Over 20 years ago, our dad, while single, had a brief relationship that led to a pregnancy,” Gigi and Bella told the Daily Mail. They went on to say Nix did not know the true nature of her lineage until recently, when the man she believed was her father passed away.
“Aydan was born and raised in Florida, growing up with the man she lovingly knew as her father until his sudden passing when she was 19, Gigi and Bella’s statement said, according to Daily Mail.
The statement went on to say Nix “decided to take a genetic test out of curiosity,” which led to the shocking discovery that she had “a biological connection” to the Hadid family.
Gigi and Bella said they “first connected” with Nix “in late 2023,” and said Nix has since “spent time” with the entire family, including her biological father, noting the family has “embraced” Nix “with open arms.”
“We’ve cherished this unexpected and beautiful addition to our family,” Gigi and Bella said.
“As siblings, we’ve had many open and loving conversations – with Aydan included – about how to support and protect her,” they said, according to Daily Mail.
“Aydan and her family value their privacy, and we fully respect that. We kindly ask others to do the same and honor her wish and right to her anonymity as she continues her life as a young woman in New York.”
The outlet reported that Mohamed “always knew” about Nix but has “not provided” her with financial support. A family source told Daily Mail Mohamad is “cordial and pleasant” with Nix. He was expected to attend her graduation in May but allegedly canceled about a week beforehand.

Mohamed has daughters Gigi and Bella and son Anwar from his marriage to Yolanda, and shares daughters Marielle and Alana with his first wife, Mary Butler.
The famous real estate mogul follows Nix on Instagram, but has not publicly acknowledged her as his daughter.
