Alternative education: Columbia University Apartheid Divest is the anti-Semitic student group behind last spring’s encampments and last month’s library storming. Now, a number of anti-Israel pamphlets they created line the shelves of the same library they occupied.
That’s according to our Jessica Schwalb, who obtained photos of the pamphlets—known as “zines”—on the shelves of Barnard College’s Milstein Library. The zines “are listed on Columbia University’s online catalog, meaning they were officially incorporated” into the library “and not slipped onto the shelves by students.” Some of them call for boycotting Israel and defunding the public safety office at “KKKOLUMBIA.” Others “direct readers to content praising assassinated Hamas leaders like Yahya Sinwar and Ismail Haniyeh and justifying the Oct. 7 attack.”
“The zines, which have not been previously reported, are yet another example of pervasive anti-Semitism at Barnard and Columbia,” writes Schwalb. “CUAD led a March 5 raid on Milstein Library, where the zines are housed. During the storming, the mob injured two security officials and distributed Hamas propaganda justifying the Oct. 7, 2023, terror attack.”

Summer 2020 vibes: If CNN has learned from its infamous “Fiery But Mostly Peaceful” graphic from the BLM riots of 2020, the network isn’t acting like it.
On Saturday, as anti-ICE rioters burned cars and clashed with cops in Los Angeles, CNN turned to Juliette Kayyem, its senior national security analyst, to make sense of the moment. Kayyem was fresh off of blasting the FBI for its decision to label the anti-Semitic firebombing attack in Colorado what it was: a targeted act of terrorism. Here’s what she had to say about LA: “Let’s start with, there’s protests, lawful protests, which is allowed in this country. There is some unrest, generally dealt with by local law enforcement.” Nothing to see here.
Kayyem opined on the riots for the better part of CNN’s 10 p.m. hour. There was hardly any LA coverage in three hours prior—because CNN cut away from California to air a “special” live broadcast of George Clooney’s journalism-themed Broadway musical, Good Night, and Good Luck.

Show of strength: On June 1, foreign national Mohamed Soliman targeted a Boulder, Colo., Jewish group’s weekly march in support of the Israeli hostages with Molotov cocktails. Exactly one week later, Colorado’s Jewish community returned to the scene of the attack in a show of strength and resilience.
Attendees gathered for the Boulder Jewish Community Center’s 30th annual Jewish Festival. The center’s executive director said he considered canceling the event before receiving “overwhelming feedback from our community that we not only want to gather—but need to gather.” State and local law enforcement provided additional security as dozens participated in Run for Their Lives Boulder’s weekly walk, which Soliman targeted. Some of them told our Ethan Barton, who attended the festival, that the attack emphasized the need to rally in a display of resilience.
“Now is not the time to kind of kowtow and hide at home to be scared that something like this might happen again,” said attendee Danny Simon, who returned home to Denver from Israel just days before Soliman’s attack. “I think we just have to do the opposite of that and show more numbers … and say that we’re not scared, and we’re here and we’re proud.”

In other news:
- Hogg tied: DNC chair Ken Martin privately told his fellow party bigwigs that he wasn’t sure he could move forward in the job because of vice chair David Hogg, the obnoxious Harvard grad who lamented the number of “straight white men in power” before taking power himself and pledging to spend $20 million to oust Democratic incumbents.
- Was it something he said? ABC News suspended its senior national correspondent, Terry Moran, over an unhinged social media post that called Trump adviser Stephen Miller a “world-class hater” whose “hatreds are his spiritual nourishment.”
- Paging Shari Redstone: 60 Minutes staffers continued their crusade against Paramount’s suspected Trump settlement, with Scott Pelley joining CNN on Saturday as well.
