Federal investigators in New York City searched Mayor Eric Adams’ official residence early on Thursday morning, after he was indicted on federal charges the previous night.

In a video statement released on Wednesday, Adams maintained his innocence and said any charges would be “based on lies”.

The exact charges will be revealed later on Wednesday.

Adams and top officials in his orbit have faced growing scrutiny as part of multiple federal corruption probes, including whether his campaign received illegal foreign donations from Turkey.
