J.D. FOSTER: Deportations? Let Me Count The Ways

J.D. FOSTER: Deportations? Let Me Count The Ways J.D. FOSTER: Deportations? Let Me Count The Ways

Roughly 60,000 people called Springfield, Ohio, home and then almost 15,000 Biden-Harris Haitians and other miscellaneous illegals showed up. Thousands of Venezuelans likewise descended on Aurora, Colorado, complements of the current howdy folks border policy.

With millions of Biden-Harris arrivers spread across the country nearly every city has an unhappy illegals story to tell. And now we learn from Immigration and Customs Enforcement that among those millions of illegals were 425,431 convicted criminals released as required by Biden-Harris to roam the country, and that doesn’t include the thousands more who evaded custody on entry.

Former President Donald Trump highlights the crime committed in the United States by illegals, claims dismissed by the swamp even as the reported tally climbs in towns like Whitewater, Wisconsin. It is past time to state the ugly truth: Trump did everything he could to staunch the flood so his hands are clean, but because of their open borders policy President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris-the-Border-Czar are accessories to every murder, every assault, every rape committed by an illegal who arrived under their watch. Of course, not every illegal is committing crimes, but every illegal is in the country illegally and most of them have to go as Trump and Sen. J.D. Vance insist. Voters mostly agree but reasonably ask: How would you do it? As per the poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning: “Let me count the ways.”

Be clear, Americans won’t tolerate turning the country into a police state to hunt illegals in mass sweeps. They arrived in ones, twos, and twenties and that’s how they will leave.

Step one: Secure the border; finish the wall; “remain in Mexico;” all the policies Trump implemented that Biden-Harris eliminated to create this mess.

Be very clear that the Biden-Harris illegals won’t be allowed to stay. Many will leave on their own terms rather than be bum-rushed in federal custody. The Feds should advertise locations where buses will take them back to Mexico, no hassles, no questions asked.

Next, when a Biden-Harris illegal is arrested for some other reason, then the sequence is trial, no bail, jail if convicted, deported either way.

Next, enforce the laws currently ignored that require employers to ensure their employees are allowed to work here. When jobs for illegals become scarce, the economics will force them to find a bus.

Many cities and states declare themselves to be “sanctuaries,” welcoming illegals and refusing to cooperate with federal authorities. Fine. Tighten up everywhere else.

Illegals will flee to the sanctuaries, making the lives of the legal residents of Chicago, New York and San Francisco even more miserable. Before long the city politicos will pull up the welcome mat. The sanctuaries will become big bus terminals with daily trips south.

Take enough small steps and the net outmigration will be huge. Will they all leave? Probably not, but the inability to remove them all is no reason not to remove as many as possible.

A vital consequence of this approach is that true, bi-partisan and comprehensive immigration reform will then be possible. Millions living in the country illegally arrived long ago. They contribute to our communities. They abide by our laws and have learned the language. They need a path into the sunlight; never citizenship as Harris wants but legal residency.

One has to draw a line somewhere. The obvious line is the start of the Biden-Harris administration as this marked the onset of the crisis.

America should never be anti-immigrant. We should be a magnet for talent and the educated. American agriculture depends on immigrants. One of America’s great strengths is her melting pot population, taking in the best of each arriving culture. But they should add to America, not swamp it.
