The victims of Hurricane Helene can all breathe a sigh of relief this morning: Kamala Harris has a $750 check for you to rebuild your lives. Of course it’s a trivial sum, and a slap in the face as almost a billion in FEMA funds have been flushed away catering to illegal immigrants. But the Democrats’ propensity to throw marginal sums of money at a deep, systemic problems extends well beyond acute hurricane relief. It’s the entire MO of the liberal project — one that cannot go on forever.
