The Padres-Dodgers rivalry always gets heated, and here we go again.
When the bottom of the seventh inning arrived in Game 2 of the NLDS series Sunday between the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers, things ended up being delayed with a load of security guards crowding Dodger Stadium’s foul lines because of Los Angeles fans tossing objects at Padres players.
San Diego left fielder Jurickson Profar had two baseballs thrown at him, which was most likely retaliation after Profar had some first inning-fun at the disposal of Los Angeles fans. During the inning, it looked like shortstop Mookie Betts was about to hit a home run, however, Profar ended up making the catch by swooping the ball away from supporters. Not only did he steal away a homer from Betts, but he completely flexed to Dodgers fans in incredibly cocky fashion. After the balls were launched at Profar, umpires grabbed him away from the outfield, which then led to his Padres teammates (and their manager Mike Shildt) to completely surround him to calm him down.
However, things didn’t stop there as just moments later, three objects were slung at Padres right fielder Fernando Tatis Jr., who also had some disrespectful fun with Dodgers fans (as you’ll see in the videos below).
The game underwent a delay of nine minutes.
