Ed Gale, best known for bringing Chucky to life in the classic horror film “Child’s Play,” reportedly died Tuesday at the age of 61.

A source who was with the famous actor at the time of this death said he died in hospice in Los Angeles, California, TMZ reported.

Gale’s niece Kayse paid tribute to her “fun uncle” in a Facebook post Tuesday, noting the actor died suddenly.

Kayse told fans Gale had “taken his final bow and is now headlining in the afterlife.”

“Ed hitched a ride to California when he was twenty years old, with $41 and a dream, and he never looked back,” she wrote in her tribute post.

“He lit up the silver screens in cult classic films like ‘Howard the Duck’ and ‘Chopper Chicks’ in ‘Zombie Town’, earning himself some serious street cred at every con he attended. Which he never stopped bragging about. Ever,” Kayse added.

“Over the course of his career he appeared in over 130 movies, TV shows, and commercials. With this wide ranging body of work, he leaves behind legacy full of questionable lighting and amazing one-liners,” she wrote.

The star’s niece shared some intimate memories of her beloved uncle. “He had one hell of a laugh, and he will be missed,” she said.

Gale’s many credits in the entertainment industry also included “Bones,” “Spaceballs,” and “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” (RELATED: Guitar Legend Rick Derringer Dead At 77)

Embracing the true spirit of Gale’s sense of humor, his niece signed off by writing, “Rest in love you cranky bastard 💕.”

Funeral arrangements for the star remain pending. Fans and loves ones have taken to social media to share memories and pay their final respects.
