Many people criticized Jessica Chastain after she complained that a $15 refund from an airline wasn’t good enough.
The famous actress said her and her husband, Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo, boarded a 6-hour JetBlue flight and were disappointed to discover their entertainment system didn’t work. Chastain complained to JetBlue management, which offered her a credit of $15. But that wasn’t sufficient and she griped about the issue some more, which prompted some fans to tell the star she was being pretentious, particularly with the timing.
A JetBlue service agent replied to Chastain’s rant on Twitter, reminding the actress she was already reimbursed. Chastain responded, saying the airline’s $15 refund wasn’t enough. She aired her grievances by noting that her flight cost $1,500, meaning the credit was only 1% of what she paid for.
The agent then asked the famous actress to send a direct message if she wanted JetBlue to look into the matter further, but that seemed to annoy the star even further. She told the agent that she was a TrueBlue account holder and a loyal customer, but they replied saying there was not much else they could do.
That’s when fans started to unleash on the actress for rejecting their offer in light of her wealth and privilege.
One social media user wrote, “People in North Carolina just watched their loved ones and homes wash away, but the real tragedy is Jessica Chastain (net worth $50 Million) not having a functional tv on her flight. Thoughts and prayers.”
