“American Pie” star Jason Biggs admitted he came “very close to rock bottom,” nothing that he dug through trash bins for drugs amid the depths of his addiction.
The 47-year-old actor told Arielle Lorre on a Wednesday episode of her “Well” podcast that he faced some troubling times seven years ago.
“I lived in the gray area,” he said.
Biggs described being awake at 4 a.m. doing lines of cocaine while his wife slept. The actor said he was determined to stop so he chucked the remaining cocaine into a trash can.
“Within 15 minutes, as soon as my last bump is wearing off, and I was like, ‘what am I doing?’ And I go into my trash, and I take it out and I do a line,” he said.
Biggs went on to explain how the situation quickly escalated until he was digging through trash bins on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, California, in the middle of the night.
The actor said that after a short while he decided to go back for the bag of cocaine he put into his own garbage can.
“I’m like, ‘I’ve got to get rid of this,’” He said. “And so I went outside to like the trash bins you have in front of your house in L.A., and I threw it in one of the trash bins. I was like, ‘OK, I’m done,’” he said.
Biggs told Lorre he went back inside to take more drugs — this time some Ambien — so he could go to bed.
“Before I took the Ambien, I was like, ‘You know what, one more.’ I went outside and I climbed into the trash bin and got the bag of coke and went upstairs and did another line,” he said.

“I was like, ‘What the f*ck am I doing? This is absolutely insane. ‘I literally got in my car with the bag of coke, drove to Sunset — the bottom of the hill … and I put the bag of coke in one of those trash bins,” Biggs continued.
“There was a Starbucks cup inside of it — still had some coffee in it, and I put it in that [with] clothes and I drove back,” he said.
That’s when the situation took a turn.
“I drove back home…and I’m like, ‘Okay, I’m good.’ It wore off and I was like, ‘I got to get that bag of coke,’” he said.
Biggs described driving back to the street to retrieve the drugs from the liquid-filled Starbucks cup in the stranger’s trash bin.
“I could have just easily opened the baggie and dumped it down the toilet, but I didn’t,” Biggs admitted.
“It’s too final. I knew I was going to finish that bag the moment I got it, but I kept playing this game with myself.”
“For me, it was the obsession over it,” he added. (RELATED: ‘Heroin And A Face Mask’: Reality Star Shares Bizarre Definition Of ‘Sobriety’ In Hollywood)
“I knew when I would need to call the coke dealer, how much Ambien or Benzo to take based on how much coke I had so I would come down but hopefully not die.”
Biggs is now sober and says his life has improved without the use of drugs.
