The “Oakland Athletics” are officially a thing of the past.
Prior to the organization relocating to Sacramento next season, and then Las Vegas in 2028, the Athletics made the announcement Monday that they have officially nixed “Oakland” from their franchise name. While Sutter Health Park continues to be worked on to meet the level of a Major League Baseball stadium prior to Opening Day 2025, the Athletics dropped a set of guidelines when it comes to their rebranding as the team gets set for new days in Sacramento.
- The team is now known as simply the “Athletics,” with the “A’s” still being used as a second name
- ATH will be the designation for the franchise
- West Sacramento will be the city that the A’s play in
- Sutter Health Park is the name of the stadium the Athletics will call home
- The Athletics’ primary logo will be the green “A’s” edition
- Their primary wordmark will stay the same (green Athletics script)
- Sutter Health Park’s address is 400 Ballpark Drive | West Sacramento, CA 95691
The A’s have officially dropped “Oakland” from their name, changing to just simply the “Athletics” (abbreviation: ATH) for their move to Sacramento.

I’m curious to see how things go in Sacramento, especially with the Athletics already pissing people off in the city — can’t get to Vegas soon enough if you’re these boys.
