Sleepy Joe is looking bright-eyed, bushy-tailed and ready for retirement in Rehoboth Beach.
In the wake of Kamala Harris’s crushing defeat to Donald Trump, President Joe Biden addressed the election results Thursday in a speech at the White House. Appearing chipper and energized, the outgoing president urged Americans to accept the outcome and dial down the political rhetoric. “Something to hope we can do, no matter who you voted for, is see each other not as adversaries, but as fellow Americans. Bring down the temperature,” Biden said. “I also hope we can lay to rest the question about the integrity of the American electoral system. It is honest, it is fair, and it is transparent, and it can be trusted, win or lose.”
Wow! Joe Biden looks pretty chirpy, happy, and articulate! Kamala Harris defeat has re-energized him! 😁 pic.twitter.com/zMKNY8NtG7

Biden has not seemed this happy and this coherent since the early days of his presidency. I think he’s feeling an incredible amount of schadenfreude, the icky yet pleasurable feeling you get when you witness a rival’s downfall, and a sense of accomplishment for being the only Democrat to have ever defeated Trump.
Remember, the Democratic Party back-stabbed Biden after he debated Trump in late June. There was no primary, either. The Democrats, the supposed party of democracy, hand-picked and installed Harris as the candidate.
And now they are taking the knives out again, blaming Biden for Harris’s resounding loss because he took too long to drop out of the race. But Biden is the last man they should blame. Arguably, Biden would have performed better than Harris among the working-class Hispanics and black Americans that helped swing the election for Trump. The truth is, Democrats only have themselves to blame for elevating a mediocrity back in 2020 who will certainly go down as one of the weakest presidential candidates in modern political history. Harris had no charm, no public speaking ability and no interesting policy ideas. The empty pantsuit only offered fake accents and lame platitudes about joy; Americans of all stripes rejected all of it.
So, Biden should be happy. He leaves the political arena knowing he was the only man to have defeated such a transformational candidate in Trump. He can pardon his son, Hunter, ride off into the sunset with Jill in tow and enjoy his final years at the beach. That’s a win in my book.
