Former President Bill Clinton was hospitalized in Washington, D.C., after developing a fever Monday, according to his spokesman.

Clinton’s Deputy chief of staff, Angel Urena, shared on X that the 78-year-old “was admitted to Georgetown University Medical Center this afternoon for testing and observation after developing a fever.”

“He remains in good spirits and deeply appreciates the excellent care he is receiving,” Urena wrote.

Clinton was previously hospitalized for six days in 2021 when he developed a urological infection that spread to his bloodstream. He has also been diagnosed with heart problems and underwent quadruple bypass surgery in 2004.

Clinton campaigned heavily for Vice President Kamala Harris this past election season. He spoke at the Democratic National Convention in August, where he shared that he wasn’t sure how many conventions he would have left.
