The world witnessed the robbery.
When it comes to boxing, not many people pay attention until it’s a big event like Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson, Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao, etc. And this couldn’t be more true when you’re talking about boxing in the Olympics — not many people care. But 2024 was different, and this was because of Imane Khelif taking a gold medal in women’s boxing in the Paris Games.
Back in March 2023, Khelif was disqualified from being able to compete in The Women’s World Boxing Championship after failing a “series of DNA tests,” with the International Boxing Association (IBA) coming to the conclusion that Khelif was “trying to fool their colleagues while pretending to be a woman.” But despite all of that, Khelif was permitted to compete in the Olympics. In other words, Khelif was allowed to fight women. (RELATED: Female Boxer Angela Carini Gets Her ‘Revenge’ After Being Royally Screwed By Biological Male Imane Khelif)
Justice was never served in the situation, with Khelif going on to win the gold. As a result, the headlines and chatter around Khelif only grew. In fact, the interest in Khelif has been so great that the boxer was the most-Googled athlete of 2024.
Recently, Google dropped their 2024 data for “Year in Search,” which shows that Khelif comes in at No. 1 over superstars such as Mike Tyson, Lamine Yamal, Simone Biles and Jake Paul, who complete the Top 5 when it comes to Googled athletes.
Khelif won the gold after beating Angela Carini, who took herself out of the match after only 46 seconds because of how much pain she was suffering from Khelif. From there, the Google searches soared.

What I take from this: people have had enough and want change.
