Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark has been named to the All-WNBA first team, becoming the first rookie to receive the honor in 16 years. (RELATED: Lonzo Ball Steps On Court For First Time In Nearly Three Years. He Put Up One Hell Of A Game Like It Was Nothing)
Clark landed 52 votes to put her on the first team, with the 22-year-old finishing No. 4 overall in the voting. The former Iowa Hawkeye finds herself on the team with Las Vegas Aces center (and WNBA MVP) A’ja Wilson and Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier, both unanimous selections, as well as New York Liberty forward Breanna Stewart and Connecticut Sun forward Alyssa Thomas.
The last time a rookie was placed on the All-WNBA first team was back in 2008 when recently retired Candace Parker was selected. Tamika Catchings and Sue Bird, who are both retired as well, also received spots on the team as rookies, as did Phoenix Mercury guard Diana Taurasi.
