Hollywood stars took a break from their usual annoying ways to appreciate the simple things in life this Christmas.
The usual suspects that inundate us with social media updates were shockingly quiet, and those that typically flaunt their luxurious gift exchanges spared us the details. Christmas 2024 was a low-key, private celebration that centered around appreciating what really counts in life, and it was a refreshing change. Even the Kardashians held back this year, opting to share snippets of their holiday moments, rather than showcasing the expensive items they gifted to one another.
Kim Kardashian typically showcases her wealth in photo dumps, but this year, she took fans on a tour of the Lego house she built with her children, instead. She showed off the ‘Home Alone” house she built with her kids, and shared a video of a gingerbread house that featured the names of her very famous family members. She didn’t show off any of her gifts, and we’re grateful for the temporary reprieve.
Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker seemingly also celebrated a relatively low-key Christmas. Kourtney shared a photo reel that included images of herself holding a Nirvana record, as well as a Frank Sinatra LP. There was no glitz, no glamor, and we’re very ok with that.
Kendall Jenner shared a video of what appeared to be a card game that she enjoyed with her family, and showed off her Christmas outfit, but held back when it came to showcasing her presents or any gifts that were exchanged.
Sofia Vergara kept things simple by sharing a few snaps of herself in a sexy red pajama set. She was photographed enjoying some tender moments with her dogs, without a Christmas gift in sight.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez might no longer be a couple, but he reportedly gifted Lopez with an autographed book by Marlon Brando. This was surely as valuable as it was meaningful, but is far from the glittery diamonds that we would expect from these two.
Heidi Klum posed in pajamas with her family and posted fun-filled ski videos to social media, as she enjoyed a trip to Aspen over the holidays.
Even Paris Hilton, who is notorious for showing off the contents of her closet and showcasing her expensive items, decided to keep things fairly simple this year. She shared family images of her kids as well as photos and a video shoot that showcased some racy, nearly-nude outfits amid a backdrop that endorsed Coco Chanel. What she actually received for Christmas remains a mystery.
I’m not sure if it’s the recent rash of high-end burglaries that prompted the stars to hold-back on bragging about the material items they received this year, or if they actually put their focus on what was really important this holiday season. Whatever the reason, celebrity Christmas 2024 was dialed-down, and I can only hope the stars maintain this normal tone a while longer.
