HAHAHAHAHA … wait for it … HA!
In the 2023-24 season, the NBA launched an in-season tournament branded the NBA Cup in an attempt to increase interest in their boring regular season, but the league’s plans haven’t worked out whatsoever. The ratings for the 2024 edition of the tournament have been dreadful, already seeing a double-digit decline compared to last year’s tourney.
And it’s not just the television ratings that have been bad, the ticket situation is pretty terrible as well as the price to see the conclusion of the NBA Cup in person is dirt cheap. For Saturday’s game between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets in Las Vegas, the price for a ticket is only $39, but it gets even worse, as it costs just $29 to see the squareoff between the Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks. Those are the semifinal games.
When it comes to Tuesday’s NBA Cup championship, that ticket price rings up at $79, but with a ton of seats still available, expectations are that tix will most likely drop under $60 as we get closer to the game.
Tickets for the NBA Cup in Las Vegas have plummeted since the teams were set. They were hoping for Lakers, Warriors, Suns, Clippers, Celtics or Knicks but no dice. The current get in prices:

The China-enabling NBA is struggling to get people to watch their product, Caitlin Clark is out here pushing “white privilege” … basketball is so cooked.
