This is pretty damn cool.
Meet Knox and Kai Redick, two kids who are obsessed with basketball and had racked up a pretty incredible memorabilia collection over the years. Courtesy of their dad JJ being a college basketball legend, a former NBA star, a basketball podcaster and the current Los Angeles Lakers head coach, the boys had loads of NBA jerseys, trading cards, autographs and other flash and dash merch.
But, unfortunately, Knox and Kai lost their whole collection to the raging California fires that destroyed their home and a lot of their Pacific Palisades neighborhood. (RELATED: Lakers’ JJ Redick Sadly Loses Home In Raging California Wildfires: REPORT)
San Antonio Spurs superstars Chris Paul and Victor Wembanyama caught whiff of the situation, so after Monday night’s game that saw the Spurs beat the Lakers, the two San Antonio players met up with Redick’s boys and gave them their game jerseys.
And, as you can imagine, the boys were absolutely ecstatic about it.
Victor Wembanyama & Chris Paul give their jerseys to JJ Redick’s kids. ❤️🙏

A sweet moment after the Lakers-Spurs game: Victor Wembanyama and Chris Paul gifted JJ Redick’s two sons their signed, game worn jerseys. Both boys love basketball and lost their collection of hoops memorabilia in the Palisades fire. pic.twitter.com/Tp2uyJHYKW

Here’s what JJ had to say about it when speaking with the press:
JJ Redick says Paul called him and said win or lose, he and Wembanyama would go over and give his kids jerseys.
“Players would come through (for the podcast). They had a collection of jerseys and cards. They lost all that. I’m not surprised Chris did something like that.” https://t.co/DG9h6lYT4S pic.twitter.com/NzpkZ3sa6C
