The Los Angeles Police Department reportedly descended on actor Chris Pine’s home after a male caller dialed 911 claiming he had been sexually assaulted at that address.
Pine was said to have been stunned to find police at his doorstep, and seemed confused about the reason for their presence, TMZ reported Friday. The police executed their duties by proceeding to ask Pine a series of questions and were able to determine there had been no crime committed at that address. They went on to deem this to be a suspected swatting case, according to TMZ.
The police department continued their investigation to determine the identity of the person that had placed the call. They phoned the number back and the man picked up the phone, but was uncooperative when it came to answering their questions. The man hung up on police, who later determined was not a resident of California, according to TMZ.
The Los Angles Police Department is working to establish the caller’s identity, and hope to learn the motivation behind the swatting call. They are currently investigating the man for the crime of filing a false police report, according to TMZ.
This marks the fourth time the famous “Star Trek” star has been swatted.
Police are now seeking to determine whether this caller was also responsible for the other three swatting calls made to Pine’s residence, according to TMZ. (RELATED: Police Rush To Jennifer Aniston’s Home For Welfare Check, Realize It Was Likely Swatting Attempt: REPORT)
